The current release was devoted to fixing a number of bugs and improving the performance. Also, we have clarified how certificates should be set up in courses and issued the instructions for administrators.
Problem responses report has correct/incorrect info
The report on problem responses now has a special column with correct/incorrect values in addition to the columns with correct answers and learner-supplied answers. The new column helps instructors to easily understand how a learner has coped with a question without having to compare two columns.
This feature works with most of the problems except ORA and Multi-section quizzes.
Course order is fixed in programs
Now courses in programs are strictly ordered. When a program is created, administrators define the order in which the courses must be taken. Thus, all courses are shown to learners on the program info page in the defined order so that learners could take them one after another.
All courses now have information about the programs they belong to and what courses must be taken prior to starting the current course.
Discussion tab can be hidden from the course
The Discussion tab of a course now can be set hidden. To do it, the course author needs to press the “eye” button in the Content > Pages course setup section.
We continued working on the Programs feature — a way how to organize several courses into learning paths. The focus was given to simplifying program creation for organization’s administrators and different scenarios on how to manage access to programs for different user groups. Also, a bunch of critical bugs was fixed.
Programs can be created by an organization’s administrators
We have made numerous improvements to programs so that programs (learning plans) can be created by organization administrators. The necessary access rules were created, and the program management interfaces were simplified.
Discover New section now displays to users the available courses and programs
Now users belonging to an organization can go to the Discover New section and find all programs and courses available. A program’s general details are shown in a pop-up with a link to full details. Courses in programs are also checked for availability: whether they belong to a user group and are active. Archived programs and courses are marked with the corresponding ribbon.
The supported authentication mechanisms have been extended to include the API-based assessment. Script-based life-cycle actions are supported. A number of bugs have been fixed.
Authentication for API-based assessment
Three types of authentication mechanism have been added to the API libraries configuration:
This adds more flexibility to the API-based assessment of lab tasks.
Script-based life-cycle action
The life-cycle action feature enables the instructor to control the lab flow more accurately. Sometimes additional lab configurations need to be done during the lab execution: for example, the creation of credentials and a tenant for students in the cloud for cloud-software oriented labs. This can be done through configurable actions timed for a certain phase of a lab’s life-cycle.
A lab has a finite life-cycle consisting of the following phases: the lab environment start, actions in the environment, the lab environment deletion, etc.
